Making a Chamber Cast

Post by SgtJethro » Fri Apr 09, 2004 2:46 pm

I am hoping to make a cast of the chamber on my mystery Remington Rolling Block and have a few questions.

This rifle uses a round pretty near the size of a 43 Spanish or 43 Mauser. In addition to getting the complete chamber, I also want to get an inch or so of the barrel to measure bore and lands. Is 1/2lb of cerrosafe going to be enough?

Is itnecessary to take the gun apart first?

Hey, this is my first attempt at this and I want to be safe rather than sorry.
