Dewey Rods and sundry cleaning products

Post by dromia » Wed Jul 14, 2004 3:52 pm

Beeen trying out my purchses fron Bisley tonight.

Bought a quarter dozen Dewey cleaning rods, two long ones in .30" and .276" and a medium one in .30" calibre. The long ones are for my G98 and Swedish Mausers.

They seem to be excellent quality rods with a robust coating. The plastic was coming of my PH rods and there was too much metal showing hence the replacements. The jags are different from my usual PH ones and seem to be a bit bigger as the 4x2 is very tight in the barrel.

I also bought a quantity of pro shot phos.bronze brushes in various calibres, they seem good kit also but only time will tell. They seem to get wider towards the thread end.

Finally I tried the JB paste, <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START >: --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">; I don't think it did a damned thing but clart up the bore, there was certainly no copper removed.

Good job I stocked up on the old Hoppe's benchrest, it works great.
