Is the Swede Bolt long enough to be turned down?

Post by jeffreyjack » Wed Aug 04, 2004 12:39 am

I have a Swede that was already bubba'd when I got it. It shoots great and I have been thinking of putting a scope on it since the eyes have been going (they tell me I need bi-focals now).

Popped into the Gander Mountain gunsmith and asked for a price to bend the bolt down. He said he wouldn't want to do that as it would be too short to use.

Is this true?

What do you think? What do you do if you want to put a scope on the rifle? I mentioned mounting a scope on the existing open sight ramp and he looked confused and asked, "Why would you want to do that"?

Any help would be appreciated.
