Disassembly of Spiller and Burr

The Spiller and Burr disassembly was a lot like the Rogers and Spencer. There was one thing that made take down easier. The horizontal locking bar had a T handle on one side and a screw on the other. No screw driver needed. Just turn it one full turn with the flat side up with two fingers. Mine has a 0 up on the locking side. This version of assembly was better than the Rogers and Spencer by that much.

Unlike the 1860 Army, Remington New Army, and the Rogers and Spencer this is a .36 caliber pistol instead of a .44. It also has a brass frame instead of steel. Original Spiller and Burr pistols may have been made both ways.. I don't know right off hand as I post this.

This one came from Dixie. It does credit Fillipietta as the Italian manufacturer.
