I had just got home from Army and before I could even apply for unemployment, a
high school pal that I raced cars with needed to hire a driver for a propane delivery
truck. He knew I could drive and heard I was back home, so he hunted me down and
hired me on the spot.

Sometimes the world beats a pathway to your door - other times they build a freeway past your garden gate.

A hundred years ago it looked like the Kaiser wasn't going to get tried after all. I guess, if he wouldn't come to the trial it would have made a trial pretty pointless.
