Australians in Korea

Post by Aughnanure » Thu Jun 03, 2021 6:18 am

Some Aussies in Korea in about 1952, British winter uniforms but still apparently with Australian great-coats.

Note the M1 Carbines that the front two have.

From what I read the US troops often used M1 carbines as sniper rifles during the Korean war. I find that surprising considering the 30. caliber carbine round isn't a round for reaching out and touching anybody accurately at more than maybe a couple hundred yards.
