Whoever made the ship chart mixed it up a little. The current max ship length in the Panama Canal is 366 m and the max
length in the Suez Canal is 400 m, and the beam is only 50 m, not 59.

At least it didn't turn over. Wonder how many cargo containers they have on that floating barge?

Apparently it was owned by a Japanese company. It has 18,000 containers on board. Now Egypt has the ship under lock and key and demands money from the company that owns the ship for lost revenue and assorted other costs.

The AP:
The Suez Canal Authority has demanded $916 million in compensation, according to the UK Club, an insurer of the Ever Given. That amount takes into account the salvage operation, costs of stalled canal traffic and lost transit fees for the week the Ever Given blocked the canal.
Don't know what's in those containers but the shipping company is trying to get the owners of the goods to help with the ransom. Maybe the Egyptians should just have a big sale and sell the containers off one each to the highest bidders. Probably won't amount to $916 Million though.
