My guess as to why the picture was taken..............................

The plane has no wheels and overshot a water landing................. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Actually I was wrong. It's a HS-1. The difference is in the struts between the wings. The HS-1 had 3 struts the HS-2 had 4 due to an increased wing span.
Looks like the original poster was correct.
