Flying Legends 2011
Heres my usual photo post after the Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford, Cambridge. It's just a small flavour of what was another great airshow well up to the usual standard of Flying Legends.
Joe
This was the first time i had seen three Buchon/Me109's in the air at one time.
Royal Navy Historic Flight Swordfish and Sea Fury.
DC3's
Red Bull P38 and Vought Corsair.
Mustangs and Pretty Nurses
Plenty of Hawkers.
P40's including a genuine Pearl Harbour survivor.
A rare Razorback P47, paperwork to fly not quite ready unfortunately.
As usual, a good selection of Spitfires.
Skyraiders
Unfortunately the Skyraider and Checker nosed P51 collided on the Sunday after the final Balbo, the P51 pilot parachuted to safety while the Skyraider pilot managed to land safely with a large piece of the starboared wing missing! Very forunately no one was hurt but the p51, "Big Beautiful Doll" was wrecked.
A report and more photos here .....
