Was looking through some gun sites and came across this PDF copy of an
Oct 1963 edition of GUNS magazine. It is great fun to browse through, especially the ads.
The best thing is a 3-page ad for a mail order place called The Old Hunter.
It's on pages 12-14, page 14 is amazing at what you could buy, read the item
descriptions on that page, they are hilarious. I find it hard to believe you could
buy that stuff, even back then.

Adjusted for inflation the prices are not terribly cheap but still give one a twinge!

And probably the supply exceeded he demand.

I noticed a Lugar next to a Star B. I got a star B. I don't have a Lugar. However, the remarkable thing is that the Lugar is being offered for $5 less than the Star B.

That artillery model in the bottom of the clip would sell for over $1000 today and several times a $1000 depending on what condition and model.

A guy in our club, pre handgun ban, owned a Lahti 9millie, I was very taken with it.

Joe, I had a Lahti in 9 mm Parabellum with holster, spare magazine and cleaning rod when I lived in Litchfield in the late 70's It was a beautifully built gun but a sod to shoot accurately. Anything over 10 mtrs was most inaccurate.

The original test for it 's serviceability I believe was to place it in a bucket of water, allow it to freeze solid and then thaw it out and immediately shoot the full magazine .
