Gun buying is at all time high

Post by Niner » Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:49 am

With all the things happening gun buying is up in the US. Lots of potential reasons: a coming election with the Democrats heavy on gun restrictions, protestors wanting to reduce or practically eliminate police departments, groups of various sorts demonstrating with loaded guns on public streets, turmoil over coronavirus, unrest of black protests and statue destruction of any figure that can be linked to any negative black relationship going back centuries...etc.

From an AP story today:
FBI numbers released Wednesday show that 3.9 million background checks were conducted last month, the most since the system was created in November 1998 to ensure felons and other prohibited people could not buy or possess a firearm. The previous monthly record came in March, when 3.7 million checks were done. Each week in June is now in the top 10 weeks for background checks.

Halfway through 2020, just over 19 million checks have been done, more than all of 2012 and each of the years before that.

Similar article in today's Seattle paper, maybe the same one. Strange times for sure .....
The main problem I see is suddenly a lot of uneducated gun owners, which will lead to them making stupid
mistakes and give more propaganda fodder for the gun-banners........ and so the world turns...... sheesh....

Peace is that brief, quiet moment in history.......... when everybody stands around reloading.
