From the AP:
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The National Rifle Association announced Friday it has filed for bankruptcy protection and will seek to incorporate the nation’s most politically influential gun-rights group in Texas instead of New York.

The announcement came months after New York’s attorney general sued the organization over claims that top executives illegally diverted tens of millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates and other questionable expenditures.
Wayne LaPierre is probably the main reason the NRA was mismanaged and generally treated like his personal cash cow but he still seems to have his hooks in the organization for the last drop of blood....whatever is left in it.

NRA isn't having money problems, it is a strategy to break their charter and get out of New York state, although I agree La Pierre and his group need to go and there need to be some major reforms in how the organization is run.

Guess what?
The National Rifle Association announced Monday that two of its top leaders would remain in their roles during the organization’s annual meeting.

The NRA said that during its board of director’s meeting, Charles Cotton was re-elected as president of the board and the embattled Wayne LaPierre was re-elected as CEO and executive vice president.
