New law goes into effect with the new year

In Alabama you can now carry a concealed weapon on your person without a permit if you are not otherwise forbidden to carry a weapon because of mental conditions or previous criminal behavior or some other limiting thing. However, on the last night of 2021 a gang banger shoot out happened in down town Mobile before the New Years celebration and nonlethal celebratory fireworks began. One gang member dead. One wounded and in the hospital before booking for murder. Eight or nine other people wounded that may or may not have been innocent bystanders. I guess two ways to look at that event as provoking other such as some people are upset at the new carry law and some welcome it.

They had that law in AZ when I left there 10 years ago and I assume it is still the same. And I don't
think it made a big difference in gun deaths either way.
