The only kind of potato sandwich I'm interested in is a potato salad sandwich with mayo on white bread.

Although I have never had a potato salad sandwich, it does have everything I like.
Or you could replace the potato salad with tomato slices..... either way.

Duncan, is a "bred" cake the same as a bun?

Tomato sandwiches are good.....if they are home grown tomatoes and have some flavor. Fried tomato sandwiches are sometimes popular in the South. Not exactly something I'd go looking for though.

Yes, a round bread bun that ios sliced in half, buttered and filled with chips - like a burger bun but without the seeds and a softer inside.

I'd give that Porter a try Robert. I can take my fries/chips with either mayo or vinegar, I'm a true European. ;)
