Grolsch Premium Pilsner

Post by Niner » Mon Mar 15, 2021 7:09 pm

I did a report on a blond version some years ago. This is the original and most well known variety. It comes in actual pints and has a hard plastic stopper with a rubber sealer that is held down with a metal wire lock. You can lock the cap back if you want to save part of a bottle.

I first tasted this beer probably 35 years ago when I was helping a friend with a new furniture store. There was a package store next to the furniture store and we used to imbibe of nights and during that time I drank my first Grolsch in exactly the same kind of bottle.

It's bit expensive and not a regular refrigerator filler like other less pricey beers that you can by a 12 pack of for the same price as four Grolsch bottles. First class Dutch beer.

Grolsch is a premium beer and readily available here along with other like beers.
I like it and prefer it to the stronger Belgian beers.
The only question I have is - "Why would you want to use the stopper after you open it?"
A pint is a perfect quantity for quaffing!!

I agree about the stopper. However, it's great marketing. It's just saying...."hey this is the good stuff".
