Soft Shell Crabs

Post by Niner » Sun Sep 25, 2022 10:18 am

I ran across these videos just now and thought they were interesting and thought I'd post them here since some of our regulars probably never saw such a thing on a menu.

My daughter is a real fan of soft shell crabs and orders them every time at the local seafood restaurants. I can pretty much take them or leave them and had in the past wondered how the things were cleaned before they were fried up.

A regular on Swamp People is also in this video as he owns a seafood processing company in real life.

This is a video by Daniel Edgar about how molting crabs are cultivated, kept alive and processed for sale to wholesalers.
