No1 MK 111

Away Brad, surely you know the difference by now. Volley sights, cutoff its a MK111. :loco:;

Apologies for the confusion it is a Mk111, did the post around the same time as I did the one about my possibly early BSA Mk111* hence my typing confusion, that combined with being stupid. :D;

Adam, I felt that is what it was. Stupid? Hardly!!!

From the king of typos and clipped sentences! (We don't want to discuss my picture posting challenges, do we Mr. 'Let's re-edit another of Brad's photos?')

Take Care, Brad

The Mk III is a Lithgow, dated 1914, (numbers matching),on walnut (which pleased me) - I've wanted a MkIII for years.

The P14 (apparently a Winchester) was an 'impulse buy', the dealer had one for sale, the FAC had a space, the money was available and I couldn't see a CLLE coming my way in the immediate future, so why not? (The mauser action feels clumsey after the smooth repeat of an SMLE though).

Regards

Nice rifles indeed and a Lithgow with such an early date is rare in itself, let alone having matching numbers. Most early L'gows had walnut, I don't remember if it came from England finished or if the blanks were imported.

Aye I thought Tom would have had all you Antipodean lads drooling with that early Lithgow. :lol:;
