Minolta Maxxum 5

I started this forum for any collecting hobby and it turned into my camera collecting and using forum. I use it mostly to keep a record of my photo adventures. Nobody but me seems to have photo adventures that visit here....but however. I have so many cameras now that I forget which is which and which ones work and which ones don't. If you have cameras and adventures you would be welcome to post here.

Minolta Maxxum 5

I've had this camera for a while and only just now got around to running some film through it. It came out in 2001 at the end of the new film camera production age. It had all the engineering wonderful feature stuff that Minolta had developed over time. There were features like the camera could auto focus as soon as you brought the view finder to your eye. Multi point meter. Lots of other custom features. One thing I liked was there was a button to open the camera back to put in film to auto load. And... once film was in you couldn't accidentally hit the open button and open the back. The back was locked until you got to the end of the roll or chose to rewind early. At the end of the roll with the film auto rewound you just hit the open button. At the time it was introduced it sold for around $400 plus a lens.

Today I went out to Battleship park. Arista Edu. 100, D76.
