.22 ammo
Been playing with my .22 Herter's (Germany) pistol out in my shop shooting into several layers of ½" plywood.
Found out I can do about 6 shots before I choke on the smoke and have to open the door. Was at the local
general store and bought 200 rounds of .22 short, was surprised they still make them. My thinking was they
may be quieter than my .22 sub-sonic LR ammo. So I tried alternating rounds between the two. As far as
I could tell, there was really no difference in sound. Maybe I just wasted my $$ on the short rounds as I don't
know what else they are good for. And I paid 16¢ a round, could have bought LR for less online in bulk, but
I didn't need anymore LR so I just paid the store price.
Sadly, shooting the .22 in my shop is about the only shooting I have done since covid started.
This photo is of the original grips that I quickly changed out for solid black grips.

Re: .22 ammo
A box of 50 shorts costs $8? I've got a couple of ten 50 round boxes of long rifle ammo. Didn't pay attention to how much the cost of ammo of the cheap end size has risen. Hard to believe that money is worth so little and ammo that it can buy so expensive.

Re: .22 ammo
Price of a box of 50 x .22LR here is around $10.00 unless you want so called 'Competition Grade'
500 WINCHESTER M22 TARGET 40GR CALIBRE 22LR for about $53.70
I shoot Blazer and Geco and keep around 500 of each in stock.

Re: .22 ammo
Your pistol is higher grade than mine, longer barrel and nice wood grips. The barrel on mine is 4¾".
I think it looks better with the black plastic grips and I like that it has the optional adjustable rear sight.
I have more .22 ammo than I will ever use, since it was part of a bulk ammo buy from a friend that included
several types of ammo. Seems I have about 6k rounds so I am thinking of donating a bunch of it to the gun club
that I belong to as they have a youth .22 competitive shooting team, they could use it for practice I guess.

Re: .22 ammo
I only have .22 rifles because although only .22 pistols and revolvers are the same ownership category as all other handguns and you have to swim in treakle to get the licence.
Back in the late 70's in the UK I owned a Vostok which was a great little target pistol.
