1944 Tula Hex Reciever M38

Post by Miller Tyme » Sun May 05, 2013 2:28 pm

This is a 1944 Tula M38 built on a recycled 1916 Tula hex. receiver. It is in a late war laminated M44 stock with the extra cross-bolt. It has a forced matched magazine housing and butt plate, and the bolt is a mix of Izhevsk parts. About 50,000 M38’s where produced by Tula in 1944 and a small percentage of them used recycled hex receivers making these prized additions to most collections. At last check there are no more than a couple of dozen of these in the US, but some have come in with the recent Molot imports.
