The British Sniper

Post by DuncaninFrance » Tue Mar 20, 2007 12:24 pm

I have currently got my hot, sticky little hands on a copy of Ian Skennerton's book 'The British Sniper. British & Commonwealth Sniping & Equipments 1915 - 1983.

I anyone wants any information then let me know. Here is an index of weapon details / photographs.

Here you go mate, pictures of my Lithgow Low Mount - just for you! ;) One of only 362 ever made. All matching numbers, including the scope. Built on a Lithgow ShtLE 1917 action in 1945 so if it ever saw action in a sniping role it was only in Korea or Malaya. It is my pride and joy!!

Welcome to the forums mate, hope you like it here.

Thanks for the pictures she's a real beaut, if she was mine she would be my pride and joy.

Being an Ozzie you don't happen to know of anyone who has a Lithgow/Slazenger No 1 sporter conversion in .22 Hornet for sale and someone to send it to the UK, I've been trying to get one for years.

Just thought I'd ask, shy bairns get nowt.
