Turk mausers
Turks can still be found at a reasonable price. I just got one for $96 + 20 shipping from Auction Arms!!! Headspace is tight, will close with slight pressure on a "GO" guage, and the bore has strong rifeling and no pits!
They are there if you look hard enough.
Or get real lucky!
Or BOTH!!!

Those old Turks were among the first things I bought with my C&R back in 1999. They are still good collectibles. Big and heavy and built to last for nearly forever. Still fun to shoot too. Too bad the 70 rounds for less than $5 Turk ammo dried up..... however.. I still have some. Sixty year old and more ammo that still shoots too.

Cast bullets in a Turk
Shot the Turk last Sunday. I don't know if it was the rifle, Me, or the ammo ( 1974 Romainian, corrosive primers) but the shots strung horizontaly with a few close together. Been thinking of running some 175gr cast w/gas check.
Has anybody tried these? Any sugestions?

PS I am also going to try some 200gr cast w/gas checks in my 1918 SMLE.

That is on my 'back burner' waiting for some spare cash to buy the mold and dies so I would be interested to hear how they go if you do cast some.
