B52 Stratofortress

Post by Niner » Tue Oct 16, 2007 12:19 pm

This plane, beleive it or not, was landed at a state park without any actual runway. This was years ago when it was done. Looks a little neglected now. But there have been a few hurricanes since she was landed here.

I wonder if the Air Force has noticed that it's missing yet?

Its a shame that B52 is sitting outside Robert, the one we have in the Imperial War Museum at Duxford is kept indoors in the American Air Museum with a lot of other very valuable aircraft.

Heres a close up of the rear armament...

Now that is how one ought to be kept, Joe. I got some pictures of a B24 as well......and it's in worse shape, sad to say. But... this memorial park has been undergoing a lot of renovations and the planes seem to be last on the list.
