Army Air Corp Insignia
Would anyone be familiar with the horse and rider insignia on this aircraft?Photo dates from @1940 at the old Spearfish S.D.Airport.I believe was taken during exercises with the 4th Cav from Ft.Meade.

Yes it is.Here's another showing the old native sandstone control tower. It was demolished when I-9o went thru in the late '60s.

Could not identify the horse and rider insignia on the side of the plane, looks similar (rider on horse) to Wyoming Air National Guard, but not the same.
Found a picture of Maryland National Guard plane, but that's about it.

Peace is that brief, quiet moment in history.......... when everybody stands around reloading.
The Wyoming connection was my first thought also Vern. But the horse and rider in the Wyo. Air Guard logo are a bronco and cowboy in a bucking configuration. Also, when did the Guard acquire aircraft?I was unaware that they had an aerial component prior to WW2.
Thank you for researching;that is also the same type/model aircraft in your pic. From what I've found out about the O46 it was just a bit too clumsy and slow for use in the war.
