"Just what he needs...another black powder cartridge rifle that will sit for years before he gets around to shooting it. It's just like his Martini MkIV!"

That's what you would be thinking and if I were doing a Strangely Brown homage----you would be right.

But this time will be different, you'll see. I'll get my act together and have this one out to the range in no time at all...

Actually, with the re-emergence of the bulk nitro powder---in the form of Hodgdon/IMR "Trailboss"---I could be out to the range in very short order.

I have mocked the Cowboy Action shooters before---grown men with ridiculous nicknames, dressed in really expensive Hopalong Cassidy clothing---but no more.

These guys spend so much money, they have forced the bulk nitro back into production and because of this, it may actually be possible to shoot the Martini and Snider accurately, without all the "card wad, grease cookie with a cherry on top" hoo-doo that is currently necessary.

Huzzah!

Nice looking Snider, that aperture on the rear sight should make a real difference.

Personally when it comes to shooting my Sniders, Martinis and ML Enfileds I don't use that newfangled nitro stuff, it just seems too complicated and too much of a chew on, still its the nature of you young 'uns to be fashion concious. ;)

Another one in favour of BP use - much easier to load in those old cartridges. and most certainly no less accurate, quite the contrary! use some 80grs of Fg, a .590 flat-base bullet lubed with some gooey stuff, and you're ready to go...
