Webley day at the range

Post by maximvickers » Sun Apr 06, 2008 11:02 am

My son and I were out at the range early this AM. I had worked up some loads for a couple of my Webleys. We thought we would try them out and share the info and experience.

First up is a load for the WG Army.

11 grains Triple 7 with a cast .455 HBRN lead bullet 260 grains. Once fired Webley case

Average velocity 532ft/sec High 551 low 489 Nice mild load

Second is a load for my shaved MKIV

4 grains unique with a cast .455 FB lead bullet 250 grains Auto Rim cases

Average 540ft/sec High 568 low 523 also seemed a nice mild load.

Third is my standard reload for my Colt and MKVI

These were fired in my Colt.

4.3 grains unique with a cast .455 FB lead bullet 250 grains. Once fired standard Webley case.

Average 622ft/sec High 640 low 605 Functions great.

Fired factory Fiocchi in my Colt for comparison

Average 675ft/sec High 684 low 657

Used a Master Chrony set up 5 feet from muzzle.

We also took out the .32 and .25 Webley which we shot just for fun

Is that a six inch barrelled mk5 you have there?
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy!

Not a MK V but a Webley Green Army. Sorry not a very good picture.
