Last comp of the year

Post by blackisler » Tue Dec 30, 2008 1:58 pm

I shot the last clay comp yesterday [Monday] , The weather was minus 6 degrees with freezing fog visability was around 20 - 25 meters and did not lift all day [thats why no pictures] surprisingly we had a good turnout over 45 entries took part . I was on register duty so did not get to shoot til the afternoon when another member took over. The layout was a 30 bird sporting and pretty challenging , The only easy part was seeing the orange clays which stood out against the white background the hard part was judging distance and hight as there was no difference between ground and sky. The person who won [28 out of 30] is a current Scottish sporting shot the runner up is also a former Scottish trap shooter [27 from 30] third went to one of the top woman shots in Scotland[26 from 30] I came joint 4th [23 from 30] with my nephew and was also the highest club shot so was pretty pleased with my performance .

I realy must remember not to let my nephew borrow my gun next year then I just might beat him . :SCO: Rob
