K-ration

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

What are the dimensions of the box Robert, it looks quite small, and what would constitute a breakfast?

here we go the inner pkg. is 6 5/8" long,3 1/2" tall and 1 1/2 inchs thick.

contents:

1 pkg. K-1 Biscuits(energy Crackers)

1 Pkg. K-2 compressed graham crackers

1 can ham ans eggs: may be eaten cold or after heatin by boiling can in water.(chesse may be furnished instead of ham and eggs and should be eaten cold)

1 envelope- soluble coffe:should be added to 1/2 canteen cup of hot or cold water,with sugar to taste and stirred well.

1-fruit bar :may be eaten cold or made into jam by stewing slowly for 3-5 minutes in about 4 tablespoonfuls of water and spread on the crackers.

3-lumps of sugar

1-package of 4 cigarettes

1-stick of chewing gum

thats every thing listed in side the box enought to keep you going but you ain't gonna get fat off it.

it's just enouth to keep you alive and the cigerttes and gum to kill the taste :lol:

also the reason I found this and bought it is that the company I work for during ww 2 packaged these along with two other companys so it's also a little local history to.

C rations gave you a couple of pieces of toilet paper too. That was during the Vietnam era. They still had the gawdawful eggs and ham then too.. Vietnam era. Maybe they were left over. :lol:

if you ever watched any ww2 movies they never had the time to use TP if they weren't fighting they where eating or heading out on leave :lol:
