Lee Speed for sale

Post by awo425 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 12:57 pm

OK, don't know, if it is against the board rules, but I want to sell my Lee Speed and am looking to place a price on it.

Barrel is nice and chamber is tight, shoots S&B ammo real fine.

I'll let you off the hook for the post title. No problem in asking opinions about value. Of course value in Germany and value in assorted countries all over the world will certainly be mixed.

OK, I know, that there will be not that much interest in Germany, but maybe in the UK?

Selling in the EU is not a big problem, I did bussiness with fellow collectors in several countries already, but not UK yet.

As those rifles do pop up for sale not at ofter here, I realy have no feeling for he value :-(

Maybe after Dromia gets back he could offer advice for selling in the UK. I think he is going into business also.

For out here it would sell in the 900 to 1100 Euro range.
The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it.

More in the 750 - 800 E range over here. That would be retail, a dealer would want to buy for less or put a commission on if selling on your behalf.

Its a nice rifle so should sell but money is tight just now so you may have to hold on if you are looking for premium price, some people have ones for sale at £1200 + but they've had them advertsied for sale for a long time.

When I was down in Bisley at arms fairs last year the prices of Enfields had dropped a little, No4s and 1s that were going for £450 in 2007-8 were £350 in 2009.

awo425,

I tried twice to send you a PM about this rifle, but both messages are stuck in the Outbox, so I assume they are not Sent (i.e., they aren't in my Send box). Not sure how to resolve this.

Researching Lee Speeds and all commercial Lee Enfields. If you have questions or data to share, please send me a PM.

Jc5, the sent PM's will look like they are in the sent stage until whoever you sent it to reads it. Maybe he is out of town or something.
