Mosin 91/30 1943 Izhevsk,ex PU sniper.

The local Dunham's had these at $169 last month,even had a 1933,but I said "way too much money,dude" and passed.

Weeeeelll today I walk in and they were at $109+ tax,I had some cash from some trading/selling and thought "what the hell" and snatched up the last one,the sale ended tonight.

1943,laminated refurbished,need to check the maker,the barrel is good and no counter bore.

Ok test shoot time! I fired the '43 Izhevsk at about 45 or so yards,my "range"



Fired fifteen rounds of what I think is Russian 147gr light ball,shoots just a tad left but is what I'd call "dead accurate"



I'd say it's working fine and I must say the Mosin is the nicest of the old battle rifles in terms of "feel" I've ether picked up or owned Enfields,Mausers,Garands,K-31's,M1 Carbines Etc. and of them all I'd say the K-31 and Mosin feel the most right in my hands.
They're also not so heavy compared to most other WWII battle rifles.

Looks like it's a keeper. Having a laminated stock is a plus too. Thanks for the post.

Ok weather cleared up enough I could take some pics,these are a lot better then the one I took last night.







It's a refurb but the toe of the stock has been spliced a bit.

Dammit,I'm must be going blind,I thought the receiver felt a bit funny,wavy if you will,never thought to look INSIDE the bloody thing-look what I found:



Lest I be wrong this one is an ex sniper.

It is,ex PU sniper,probably thinned out a few Germans in it's time.
