Duncan...the screen still won't resize a link that is too wide. When you have an image wider than the post screen it's best to use our attachment feature and get it all posted and if someone clicks on the attached image it opens to the size you meant it to be seen at. Otherwise...they have to download it to their computer and then open it...which is what I did to get the entire image. And most probably, most won't go to that trouble...or realize even it can be done.
