Welcome to the forums Padre. Non import M1 carbines ....in original condition.... are something to prize now days for sure. Have you had it a long time?

I've had it for about 10 years.
Playing poker one day and a 85 year old vet mentioned that he had one for sale. Stated that he was in the Navy in the Pacific and escorted Japanese prisoners with it.
Didn't realize it was all correct until I sourced each part. I did them all except for ejector and firing pin.
I am assuming they are correct based on the other items.

Firsst one I saw was in the regimental museum, the next one was caried by an RUC Constable in his car in Belfast in the early 80's. They were supposed to be replaced by the Ruger Mini 14 but after deliveries had started some US senator complained the ruger was supplying combatants in a civil war. They evenntually were replaced and I remember seeing the Ruger rifles and revolvers which had arrived through a straw purchase by the Home Office I believe. I cant recall firing one, something I would have liked to have done. there were some in the NIPG armoury at Ballykinler and also the NIRT team had a few for familiarisation training along with other terrorist weapons.

I have a 1943 Inland also. But it's nowhere as nice as yours. It has the post-war rear sight, and safety.
But it's biggest drawback is the obscene import stamp on the barrel: "Blue Sky".
Oh, well. It's still an M1 Carbine. Better than none at all.
