Twenty Two Trio (foto post)

Post by joseyclosey » Fri Nov 25, 2011 11:59 am

Had a bit of a .22 fest at the range today and took the opportunity of some comparison fotos of three Enfield trainers.

What we have here, top to bottom are the N0.8 the No.9 and the No.2. All lovely shooting rifles but the best trigger was on the No.8.

Enjoy,

Very nice guns. Where they originally .22 or were they recalibrated?

What is the Ross Rifle M1910-Mark III Micrometer Rear-sight doing on an SMLE .22 Rifle?

Is it aftermarket, or is it original (Gov't) Issue?

Bit OT, Doc, but as a happy little armourer I retained my Marksman's Crossed Rifles with a Ross that I owned back in about 1957.
I claim to be the only Australian soldier to have used a Ross in military shoots in Australia post WWII ;), but I'd be happy to learn otherwise.

They are a great rifle

Owners prerogative Doc.....

nice looking set of rifles , since the no2 was the only not purpose built but rather a conversion installing a one off target sight on her seems perfectly OK to me
