Helping Veterans.......NOT!!

Post by Niner Delta » Sat Aug 25, 2012 10:06 pm

Got some junk (cheap calculator and daily planner) in the mail today from an outfit called Disabled Veterans National Foundation, they want me to donate so they can help disabled veterans, they really lay the guilt on thick. Didn't sound like a familiar group, so I googled them.
Come to find out , they are a terrible organization and spend almost nothing helping vets. Turns out that they spend almost all the donated money to raise more money, and almost noting to vets. Truely a bunch of crooks, and female crooks at that.

My wife gets a lot of donate mail....because she donates some of the time to some of them and gets on the sucker list. She has instituted a new rule recently though ... if the appeal maker sends some change, like a dime or quarter or something like in the envelope, and asks for money she doesn't donate to them. She thinks that is bad form.

I don't give anybody anything... except really important people ....like the Coastal Conversation and the outfit that buys up Civil War sites to preserve them from fast food restaurants and shopping malls. But if any of my favorite blood suckers should start sending dimes and nickles I'm done with them too.
