The White House said the U.S. has approved 250,000 of those guns to be reimported since 2005; under the new policy, only museums and a few other entities like the government will be eligible to reimport military-grade firearms.
There goes those Korean M1 rifles and carbines that could have been a windfall to C&R collectors in the US. Serves as a "take that you thugs" in prevention of crime they say. When was the last time you heard of somebody violating the law with a M1 rifle?
Meanwhile, the same Washington administration is thinking that if the military dictatorship in Egypt doesn't stop killing the locals in large numbers the US will maybe hold up delivery of more millions of dollars worth of free, modern and up to date, guns, bullets, planes, tanks, bombs....etc. to aid them in doing it.
