70th Doolittle Raid Reunion B25 Fly In - 4/17/2012

Post by Miller Tyme » Thu Sep 18, 2014 7:56 pm

Back on Apr. 17th 2012 I took my Dad, a WW2 and Korean Vet, up to Wright Patterson AFB to witness the largest fly in's of B25's since the end of WW2. Over 1/2 of the airworthy B25's in North America ( 21 out of 39 ) participated in the Fly in, ( the only airworth Japanese Zero fighter also flew in and buzzed the bombers while they landed, sadly I got no good pics of it).
The ocassion was the 70th and Final Doolittle Raiders Reunion, there where at the time 5 living members of the famous raid, but only 3 where in good enough health to attend.

I hope you all enjoy the pic's

Great photos MT, looks like your Dad was having a whale of a time. :D

I got up close and personal with Bettys Dream in Anoka, Minnesota quite a few years back. I love the look of those gunship nose B25s.

Thanks for sharing,

Joe

I bet your Dad really enjoyed that day, sure looks like it.
And great photos, those old bombers are great fun to crawl through.

This photo is the lineup on the day I went for a ride in the B-24, and got to crawl
through the B-17 and the B-24 "Tondelayo". All are owned by the Collings Foundation
and tour the country every year.
