As I understand it they were cut off by unit armourers and by workshops and upwards; I have an original (?) 1917 manufacture Enfield No1 Mk III* that has had the same treatment as well as a good scrape of the wood with a broken bottle but it fortunately escaped the infamous "Ishy" screw.C&R Guy wrote:Good Morning,
