P14 MK1* (F)

Post by joseyclosey » Tue Oct 18, 2005 2:12 pm

Or if you prefer the post1926 designation...

No.3 MK1* (F)

This is another rifle that was in military possession/storage until September this year.

Between 1500 and 2500 MK1 and MK1* Winchester manufactured rifles were armourer modified with this fine adjustment sight for sniping school use, hence the (F) designation.

The fine sights on these P14`s were considered more accurate than the SMLE with telescopic sight!

The fine adjustable sight.

With M17 sight for comparison.

Unfortunately not mine Dave, it belongs to the "keeper of the Enfields" !

He prefers a low profile ;)

I had an idea it might be hes got some superb stuff.

I noticed it still has the volley sight in place. I wonder if it missed out on the weedon repair.

All in all a superb example if only it could talk.

Dave, this one has not been Weedon- ised, both volley sights still attached, barrel nice and crisp and shiney, all in all, a very nice example of the mark.
