Oh no! get behind me temptation.

Post by dromia » Tue Jun 14, 2005 4:11 pm

Got a letter from a dealer friend today along the lines of "you like SMLEs don't you? I've got this one in it was rebarreled years ago in 1939 at Enfield and its never been used since. Its in fine condition and ready to shoot its got standard sights"

Well I know I've got a no purchase policy in place but you just never know do you.

The dealers a bastard isn't he, just enough to get me interested but no hard info, thats really below the belt isn't it. Probably a dog but I feel I do owe it to everyone to check it out to ease your curiosity.

Will keep you posted.:D;

The red mist of temptation descends again

Post by Brian the Brit » Tue Jun 14, 2005 4:33 pm

Adam,

It is your solemn duty to check it out! We expect a full report.

Brian

ps I know what you mean about dealers. Steven Downs has had so much money from me over the years that it would be easier to have my salary paid straight into his bank account.

A rather pleasant problem, Adam. Stop moaning.

If it was rebarreled in 1939 and not used since, guess it sat out WWII then. Wonder why it wouldn't have been issued to at least some kind of home guard? <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :ms --><img src=http://x9eralpha.home.comcast.net/smile5.gif ALT=":ms">;

Glad you've got your ticket back Rob.

Have you spoken to the gunrunners yet?

Joe just traded his AZ for that minty Volunteer CLLE they had, it came with the Morris tube as well so he's like a pig in shite just now, in fact I'm surprised he hasn't been on here gloating, I mean sharing that lovely Enfield with us all. :D;
