I thought 'fenders' were US for Bumper Bars Peter?

Fenders keep the mud from being thrown by the turning wheels. Bumpers, five mile per hour crash bumpers they used to be called, are front and back and more often than not now days with sensors that pick up anything in front or back of the vehicle and set off beeps in the cabin getting closer together until a solid tone tells you to either stop or run into something. Then now days, I think, it has become required beginning in 2019 for backup cameras too.

I got used to the back-up camera in my Explorer and really like it. The Ranger is
too old to have one, so I hooked up a rear camera to my GPS.... works great.
Although the GPS doesn't beep to tell me it's too late.....

The backup camera is really good for hitching up the boat. It shows you where the hitch is and directs you directly to it. Great help.

Yes, reversing camera on the Ford is great for coupling a trailer and reversing but the Kia is much better

Picked it up on Tuesday............so far very impressed with it ( and the dealer!! ) Only 1730 miles on the clock which for a three month old demonstrator is very good. Came with 6 years and 9 months warranty and a free umbrella

KIA has come a long way in the last quarter century. The first KIA I ever saw was in 1995 when the Ford dealership I had started working as a temporary thing, that became permanent, took KIA on as a subline. There was no bottom to the KIA line. Many of the first SUV KIA's, called the Sportage, didn't have optional air condition or automatic transmissions. On a hot day if you opened the door on one that had been sitting on an asphalt parking lot for a while you got an immediate odorous greeting. One customer described it as smelling like a "bag full of assholes"...a distinctive greasy fish kind of smell. However, now days, all the rating publications say good things about the KIA and they are as respectable as any other main line vehicle...and better thought of by the public than some.

At the time I first was acquainted with them I couldn't image a car company trying to compete in America with the well know euphemism for Killed In Action as a nameplate. But... what Duncan has looks like a very attractive up to date vehicle of the hybrid sort....something KIA had to do a lot of evolving to achieve from humble beginnings.

That's a nice looking car, Duncan. Although sadly, most cars now look very similar.
I especially like the color.
