He wants to trade his spud gun for a single lens reflex? Nikon? Pentax? Canon? Or could you mean a L1A1 which is a "Self Loading Rifle"? Just about any auto rifle is a self loading rifle isn't it?

Ok... I know... the L1A1 is the best military firearm that could possibly ever be. :loco:

Here we go everyone.

Indoor range - 25 mtrs - BRITISH L1A1, 7.62 x 51 NATO. Regulated to single action ( straight pull ) 150 gr Bullet - 43.4 gr Vhitavuori N140.
First time on the range - zeroing for open air range when practicable. Rear sight needs moving RIGHT

Because this weapon has been modified to only shoot handraulicly!!! all of the gas is concentrated in the recoil as opposed to working the gas piston and reloading system.
This in itself has caused the rear sight to move up the sight ramp thus changing the actual sight pattern after each shot.

I am going to make a clamp to fit on the sight ramp thus keeping it in place for future shoots.

Having said all that it was fantastic to be shooting an L1A1 again - one of the best battle rifles ever built IMO. :GBR: :GBR:
