As long as you, and no doubt other sane people, are living the best you can in West Coast fantasy land there is still some hope I guess. One of my A company guys who served the same time as me recently moved from California to Hawaii. He had all of California he could take even though he was born there. One of the things was he lost not all that many years back was his house in one of those big fire storms. He did build back in a less fire likely area and then turned around and sold out and moved to Hawaii. He couldn't take the politics any longer.

Not sure how much better Hawaii is than Cal. politically. I do know their gun laws are some of the worst.
But if you can afford to live there, the climate is the best place I have ever lived.

You are right about the gun laws. My friend had to take all of the few weapons he had left down to the local police to have them registered. He lost most of his collection in the fire years back so he only had a half dozen or so.
