A severe blow to British seapower if it happens.

If Biden gets WWIII started as a parting gift of his Presidency there will probably be a rethink of the mothball idea in the UK. Of course, after a few days, and the world is ruins, sea power won't much matter one way or the other.

The Labour party couldn't be trusted with a box of toy soldiers let aloan real ones.
Carriers, like large battleships are obsolete and easily targeted these days.
The cost of building them could have been used much more effectivly on other ships but now they are in service at least one should be kept in commission.

The most recent of the U.S. aircraft carriers and the most technically advanced is not surprisingly the most expensive: Commissioned in 2017, the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) is a $13.32 billion aircraft carrier
I found that quote on Google.

That's a pretty pricey target. Probably the long range missile Russia used today on Ukraine, thankfully instead of staring WWII, could take such a ship out ......and not use a nuclear warhead.
