There has been some suspicion that the Commonwealth Govt. intends to change the law regarding semi-auto pistols and little steps are being taken, very quietly .........

???? All I found was a tirade on the defense industry and its relation to the Department.

OK there it is... page 58 or so. I did a search for 'firearms'.

Bob Brown grabs a little attention in Question Time, and the Government uses it to boast about their own useless efforts.

The part of interest is the mention of the Govt chipping in for a national 'firearms management system' - ie one computer system for registration and licensing.

Given that the State systems are so poorly designed (at least in WA) it might help get some national consistency.
