any source on GOOD berdan primers
I am looking for berdan primers for my Snider.....anyone have any sources? I have some brazillian primers that are prone to puncture. I am told that the Moison Nagant 762X54 will work....(true?) HELP

berdan primers
Thanks for the reply. The size for my brass is .254. I am shooting a .577 Snider musketoon using the brazillian brass. Brass, OK, primers bad. I have a RCBS decapping tool and have learned to recap and it is not as bad as most "colonial" folks would describe.
As soon as I get the kinks out of "old snidey" I plan to shoot my Martinis. Aint retirement fun. B.C.

Mr DD,
Thanks so much for the suggestion for the snider brass. I have found some CBC with the dreaded berdan primers, pre bottlenecked and annealed for a buck a round. I guess I am splitting hairs as I don't shoot old snidey that much but in the process of looking around today I found the .254 berdan primers at grafs. It seems that I cannot do the easy thing and I love the unusual. I was shooting flintlock rifles when Turner Kirkland was in a converted gas station outside of Union City. Thanks again.

People at the SwissRifles board say PMC is selling them
The only problem is you have to buy 5000 minimum. Here's the thread:
http://p083.ezboard.com/ftheswissrifles ... =486.topic
PMC has brought in two shipments of Berdan .217 primers, a small batch (these were only sold direct, and I bought some), plus a large batch (these were sold through wholesalers for awhile, and now only direct).
The HazMat charges will eat you alive. If you can find others similarly interested, you can ship multiple cases of 5000 on one HazMat charge.
