Bisley Baubles and the Phoenix

Well coincidently with Joes post yesterday the baubles from the Phoenix finally arrived in the post having all been sent out this week evidently.

The range report of my highs and lows over the weekend is in the Phoenix thread so I won't repeat it.

Here are some of Ellen's photos from the Phoenix, there are others but they are on Jim's (Jumper man's) camera so we will probably never see them.

Lets start with the Artists Rifles clubhouse. Our clubhouse of choice whilst at Bisley, well the only one that will let us in. It is an oasis of alcohol, good food and tall tales of shooting derring do. I'm actually staying there for the Historic arms weekend in a fortnight as we couldn't get any cabins.

Finally the baubles:

These are the standard laurels. There are three standards or pars for each competition and anyone who scores meet the standard get a laurel. My medium range scaores got me a sliver standard laurel and my long range scaores got me the gold standard laurel.

Congrats on your expert shooting and nice pics. The .303 can still do the business.

Incidentally, there is a 1918 dated SMLE range rifle for sale in a shop not too far away from me. Rear sight removed and full length rear handguard, PH5A sight, BSA heavy target barrel and extra barrel band behind the nosecap. I suppose it is a typical 1920s target rifle that fought for the Kings Prize.

We have an Open Day next Sunday, I'll post a few pictures of our Club House. Show you that we in the antipodes can do fairly well in the amenities as well.
