Never fired mine with the bayonet extended

Post by PeterN2 » Mon Oct 24, 2005 2:09 pm

I have always fired mine with the bayonet folded. It shoots central or perhaps a smidgen left, but not much. I had it at the Trafalgar meeting at the weekend. I shot 41x50 with it. Not very good but that is down to me. I only shot a 42 with the M96 Swedish Mauser.

Regards

Peter.

then try to soak with penetrating oil.

Had the same problem with a hungarian M44, clamped it in a vise and used a punch to loosen it up.

If I ever get a M44 again, I will built a frontsight drifter for it, as I have done for the M91 and M91/30.

Hello Chris,

Got a question about the M44 front sight drifter.

What would such a device look like :?:

I'd like to make one myself, so it would be very helpfull if you have an example or some explanation on how to make one.

Thanks.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

Ok, got no pics of the M91 adjuster, but made one for my Lahtis and the swiss G11 some weeks back:

Roughly mashined in my lathe and a lot of handfiling, but cheaper than to hunt for original ones.

If I have more time, I will make one for the M44 and the M95 Nagant too, but for now I have to repair out little traktor first
