40-65 Rolling Block

Maybe try....
... no sizing at all, with the bullet loose on top of the compressed powder. But then you have to seat it out to touch the rifling, otherwise you'll miss some initial resistance. After all, the boreriding section will get you good bullet-to-bore alignment.
Neck tension is just another variable which can really affect accuracy (hard brass, softer brass, thickness etc.).
Good to hear you had good results with the NASA design - I am also seriously looking towards purchasing one of those... Should work really well in the 45-70, but no real need for it in the 500/450 #2 though, at about 90grs of no. 4 uncompressed!
The best I got is the target below - admittedly only at 75m, with my 45-70, 10 shots:

Omitting the neck tension would leave the bullets very loose and I hadn't considered trying them like that. I just need to sort out the right seating depth to ensure the bullet isn't going to move and that there isn't any air gap between it and the powder. Something else to try in teh endless round of experimentation!
I have a .45 NASA style mould for Kim to try in her .45-70 Browning Hi-Wall. She'll be delighted if she can emulate your 10 shot group!

Would you mind telling me...
... Where you got your NASA moulds? You're just tempting me more... Would be really good for LR work, and it indeed maximizes case capacity, which is really needed for the 45-70.
I got my mould from Old West Bullet Moulds. Michael Rix was the person I dealt with. These moulds are brass. I'll sort a picture out if you like and can email contact details if you want them.

Thanks,...
That would be nice - You have my contact information, so.... If you happen to have some .45's cast, could you be beothered to measure the diameter of the boreriding section too? Thanks again,
