Normaly I use D166 bullets in most of my finn rifles, but NOT in this one.
The throat was not widened to D specification, a D 166 just kisses the lands, when seated to mormal OAL, which is 76mm.
My D-Load is 45grn of N140 behinfd the D166 at 76mm and with S&B cases.
All my M28/30, but the 1940 one, get Lapua Match ammo with D47 or handloads with D46 bullet of 185grn, like the CG used back in the 1930s.
This load is also used in two M27 with tight barrels and one early Tikka M91.
I keep records of all my rifles and their barrel dimensions, no matter if they are Mosins, Enfields or Mausers
I have shot the 1938 M28/20 once this week, but my elbow did hurt too much, to produce good groups.
Will repeat the firing, when everything is back to normal.
Chris
VERY NICE

Viszier is a quality magazine, i will be stocking up on the back issues while i am in Berlin during December .
Another (off topic) question, could you tell me where, in Berlin, i might find a set of Mauser or AKAH scope mounts for my Mauser Ms 420b? I have a Hensoldt sight with elevation only adjustment and i need the windage adjustable mounts to use this scope. How much (Euros) would be a fair price to pay? My first port of call will be Frankonia BTW.

Just watching this thread from a dark corner BUT, is the Frankonia the same as Nemrod Frankonia in Ensisheim and Vendenheim, France?
If so, what sort of quality can be relied on when buying military weapons converted to hunting calibers?
I may have mentioned before but in France , if you buy a military weapon that has been converted to shoot a hunting caliber it is much easier to own and admin. I know it is not the ideal but it does give us full bore shooting without much hassle and at a good price .
Can NEVER have too much information on this subject.

Hello Joe,
Hm I live near Berlin, but I do not know good dealers there personaly.
Forget about Frankonia, they do not have much there in the shop.
Best place I was told is Triebel.
Maybe you can send a mail and they can help you:

Old Mauser mounts are tough to find, but EAW does make many diferent nounts (
http://www.eaw.de/).

Duncan, here in Germany it makes no difference if a military rifle ist in original chambering or rechambered, one alway needs a licence to buy it.
I prefer my guns in original chambering, cheaper ammo
