I did see a 1911 no A1 suffix in an allegedly original holster, the chap didnt want much by todays standards but I wasnt interested when I could get Colt New Service or a Mk6 Wobbly for £150

i do wish we could find a new service or webley for that sum here , as it is colts command a high price and the webleys are not far behind for nice ones ,
i did inherit a nice colt 1911 [1918] and holster [the M1916 belt version]-
and i found a nice ithica 1911A1 [1943] and holster [see above M3 shoulder holster] -

I was recently offered a 1911 A1 for the princely some of £1300. It wasnt in great condition , but if the price hadnt been so high I would have bought it.

ive recently started shooting three-gun competitions , i decided i wanted to shoot the single stack 1911 pistols - i thought hard about shooting my vintage pistols then decided to buy a kimber -
its not quite the thrill id imagined if i could 'relive' with my vintage pieces , but im not worried about damageing a historic piece , i bought this to shoot and im darned well shooting hell out of it - its very acurate BTW

Really like this pistol very unique and looks interesting to carry,, this kind of gun of late 1943 is the best powerful handgun if i am right.
